My Experience With Medical Doctors

Since my symptoms were not improving, I made an appointment to see my primary physician. I told my doctor about the stomach issues I was experiencing and she referred me to see a gastroenterologist (aka stomach doctor). Over the next several months, my doctor recommended running multiple tests to find some answers. I had a camera shoved up my rear end and down my throat; thankfully not the same camera and not at the same time. Both of these tests didn’t show anything abnormal. I also had the pleasure of drinking some nasty chalk like liquid and ingesting a radiation pill to see how long it takes the food to pass through my system. This did show that my food does take longer to pass than the average person. The last tests they ran were to see if I had Crohn’s, Celiac, Colitis and/or Diverticulitis and these results were all negative. I then reviewed all of those tests I had done with my stomach doctor and she said that everything in my intestines and stomach looked completely normal and that I was super healthy.

I didn’t know how to feel after she told me that.. On one hand, I was super grateful that there wasn’t anything majorly wrong with me, but on the other hand I knew that these pains were not normal and this is definitely not how a healthy person should feel. I asked my stomach doctor what the next steps were as I didn’t want to live with chronic stomach pains and she ultimately diagnosed me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or as I like to call it "It's Bull Shit.”
