New Symptoms - More Medical Doctors

Since removing my gallbladder didn’t seem to help my stomach pains, friends recommended that I try physical therapy. I tried physical therapy for about a year, but that didn’t seem to help either. I started experiencing new symptoms, where I would feel like someone was pulling me down to one side of my body; it didn’t matter which side, and sometimes it would change. I would have to lean against something or sit down to make this sensation go away.

My regular doctor referred me to a neurologist for these issues. They ran an MRI, performed a test where they poured water in my ears, checked my vision, and tested me for vertigo. As always, all those tests came out negative. The neurologists informed me that I was super healthy and that this was all in my head. He recommended putting me on anxiety and depression meds to help with my “issues”. The last thing I wanted to do was go on meds, just to be on meds, especially not anxiety meds and depression meds when I KNEW this wasn’t in my head and that these symptoms were real. At one point, it was so bad that when I was driving, I actually blacked out for a short amount of time and had to pull over. Again, I knew this wasn’t just in my head and this needed to be taken seriously.

I was done with medical doctors at this point and decided to try the naturopathic route. I started seeing a naturopath doctor who focused on kinesiology. She would put apothecary bottles on my stomach and then put my hand on different bottles and then take my other arm and try to push it down. If she couldn’t push it down, I didn’t have any issues with those items. But if I didn’t have any strength and I was weak, then that showed that I was having issues with those items. It sounds kind of crazy, but she definitely knew what she was talking about and listened to my problems more than any other medical doctor did. She told me I had Candida, which basically means you have too much yeast in your stomach. Yeast feeds off of sugar, so she recommended a low sugar diet. I also completed a food sensitivity test to see which foods I should avoid to help with my stomach issues and candida. She also put me on some supplements to help with Candida and my stomach issues.

I was also taking birth control and have been since I was 15 years old to help with my acne and to help regulate my periods. She recommended I stop taking my birth control as she has seen success from other patients who stopped using their birth control and their stomach pains improved. I also told her that I was on a strong antibiotic for a couple of years for my acne as well, which was recommended by my acne doctor. My naturopath also recommended that this antibiotic probably killed all the healthy bacteria in my gut and I needed to build that healthy bacteria in my gut back up.
